How good are you at counting?

🙂 No, relax, we are not going to have a math class!

But I do want to draw your attention to just how much you have in your life.

And no, I’m not talking about bills, stresses or frustrations.

What I do want to talk about is all the great stuff in your life and how blessed you are!

And yes, even if you don’t feel like it (for whatever reason), because we all have those days, we are all blessed.

This is not meant to be cheesy or hokey-pokey but simply an exercise to remind ourselves that even on our worst days there are still good things present too.

Even on our worst days, there are still good things in our lives too.

Tweet this!

So let’s get into it.

I want you to count your

____ Immediate family

____ Extended family

____ Work family

____ Social family

____ Best friends

____ Loved ones

____ Neighbors

____ Self

____ Blessings

O.k., now if you got 100+….. no, actually I’m kidding. That’s not what this is about.

This is not about comparing yourself to others. In fact, I want you to make sure you do not! compare yourself to anyone else.

Instead, I want you to think about something. Did you see that second to last one? Self?

That’s right! You get to and must count yourself!

Counting yourself as a blessing is so important.

I think we forget that in our daily lives.

We get so caught up in our day-to-day doings, stresses and frustrations that we forget to count our blessings, let alone put ourselves into that category.

Have you /Do you stop after your child tells you they love you to appreciate that as a blessing?

Or how about when someone holds the door open for you? Do you see that as a little blessing?

They are little blessings and they  really do happen all the time, if we can just take the time to count them.

Now, what I would like to challenge you to do today…..

Count your blessings! You already have at least two by the time you’re reading this:

  1. Yourself.
  2. The day ahead of you.
What other blessings have you encountered so far today? Please share with us in the comments below so we can all count them!

  1. This is great! It has definitely opened my eyes today! , Blessing #3! <3

  2. Really could use this reminder right now. My husband’s grandma died last week, and my grandma is currently undergoing a 10 hour surgery (cancer related). Even with these bad things happening right now, I still have a lot to be grateful for.

    • Oh my gosh… So many prayers for you, you’re husband and your family! Always toughest in the hard times, but you’re right, there’s lots to be grateful for!

  3. This is a great reminder! Especially this time of year, its easy to get lost in all the things we want and forget all the blessings we already have.

  4. I love this! I’m big on counting my blessings and trying to see the good in everything, but sometimes I too get caught up in the frustrating moments and I start to lose count. Thanks for the reminder 💕

  5. This is such a great post. Counting your blessings is something that we have to remember all the time. Even when things go wrong we still need to remember how blessed we are. This is such a great reminder for all of us. Thank you for sharing.

  6. What a beautiful post. Your life is probably your biggest blessing. Without it, you would have nothing else. And, the most important thing is to spread your blessings with others. Love it.
