How to Find One-of-a-Kind Presents
Are you looking for those one-of-a-kind presents that no one else will have? That you can’t find anywhere else.
Are you looking for something unique for someone?
How about for yourself?
Is there someone in your life that has ‘everything’ and you never know what to get them?
Do you know someone who is very picky about presents and doesn’t want the ‘normal’ present?
How about wanting to get something super special for someone but you have no idea what that might be?
Well…. can I give you a little help that may alleviate some of the stress associated with gift giving?
Alright, then let’s get started!
Have you ever heard of Zazzle?
I hadn’t either until I started looking up jobs that could be done from home and I stumbled upon it! (I’ll save that story for another time 🙂 )
So, I know many of you have heard of Etsy and/or possibly even have a store there or have shopped there – and that’s great 🙂
But I’d like to introduce you to Zazzle. Zazzle is similar but also very different.
It’s similar in the fact that the items found are creatively made and are ‘one-of-a-kind’ in themselves.
The difference and what makes it uniquely different is that on some/many/most of the items you have complete control on what you’d like your item to look like.
You can either choose the item as it is or change them up as you see fit and for your specific situation or occasion.
For example, check out this poster:
Nice and simple, right? Nothing extravagant but If you have a flower or nature lover on your list you could go ahead and just purchase this as is.
But, if you’d like to jazz it up a little and put a message of some sort or another on it then you can simply tweak it a bit with the ‘customize’ button that’s available on the page. Like so:
Now, don’t get worried. Changing it up isn’t too difficult, unless you’re not too comfortable on computers. So, just remember – you’re creating a wonderfully unique present for someone, that no one else will have!!!! If that’s not cool I don’t know what is. And definitely worth putting in a little extra effort 🙂
And just in case customizing it is too overwhelming for you and/or you just don’t feel like being that creative, feel free to check out a few of my creations below. Also, I have many, many more items in my store to look at, ranging from baby items to Christmas/Winter decor to bags.
FYI: These are all made with pictures I’ve taken myself, mostly if not all, with my cell phone. Suggestion/Hint: If you like any of the products you see and have your own favorite picture you’d like on it you can create your own, with little more than choosing the product and uploading your picture to it!!! Try it 🙂 you might just have fun!
On to the creations –

For the Nature/Puzzle Lover:
For the Jewelry Lover:

Now, we’re not done! 🙂
As I’m sure you are aware, there are even more places than Zazzle and Etsy to find and/or create one-of-a-kind presents.
Ever heard of Shutterfly?
So, they don’t have quite the variety of options as Zazzle and Etsy but they do have other options to make up for that.
One of my favorites are their photo books.
I make books all the time with Shutterfly and have loved them!
We’ve even started making books for a family friend of ours from pictures she sends us of her grandchildren through email or text! And can I tell you something? She LOVES them! She even cried (tears of joy 🙂 )when she got the first one!
Who wouldn’t be thrilled to get that kind of reaction from someone when they open their present?!
Their process is pretty easy too, especially if you’re willing to play around with it a little to learn all the neat stuff you really can do with it.
One word of advice: SAVE
If you’re working on a project, especially something like a book or calendar, that takes time to upload the pictures, chose the pictures, place the pictures, rearrange the pictures, caption the pictures, you won’t want to lose your work!
With that being said, it’s really not that difficult and they even have several different options to get your book(s) done.
Make My Book Service
One is the Make My Book Service . Where, like it states, they will make the book for you after you decide on a few details and send them your pictures.
Another option is you can upload an album (all the pictures you’d like to add to your book) and they will place your pictures for you and then you can edit and caption from there.
Or, you can do it the ‘simple’ way and upload your pictures how you’d like to group them, place them on the pages and then edit and caption.
And of course, photo books are not the only they thing have.
For the past several years I have made calendars for myself and family members. Two cool (at least to me) features they have for the calendars is that you can add events, like holidays and the like but you can also add in birthdays, anniversaries, really what ever you’d like to put on your calendar you can 🙂
Not only that but, the second feature that I think is so awesome is that in the box for each day you can add a picture!!!! So, like on my son’s birthday, I have a picture of him. On his Lola’s birthday I have hers, etc.
And just like the photo books, you have a lot of leeway to be creative. They have so many different layouts and backgrounds and even embellishments you can use.
Would you love to make a First Christmas ornament for your little one? How about if you’re newly married? Or know someone who is? Or maybe celebrating their 50th?
I’ve done ornaments for my little one since he was born and I love them!
My brother and I have metal ornaments with our names and year of the ornament on them that my grandparents got for us when I was growing up, and even though they are different I’m happy to have this tradition with my little guy.
Again, with all the different shapes, sizes, styles, colors, backgrounds, etc. you are sure to find one (or more, beware 🙂 ) that you will just love too.
Oh, and before I forget, again, Zazzle is constantly having sales on items throughout the year so there’s no reason not to check them out. And if you add the Shutterfly app to your cellphone you’ll receive notices all the time on free items (no including tax and shipping – of course :() I just got a luggage tag, ornament and desk plaque for only the cost of tax and shipping!
Plus, with Shutterfly you get free unlimited photo storage! A nice added benefit if you ask me 🙂
And if you are or will be a parent and if you do Huggies, Pampers or Coke rewards and/or have signed up to receive emails from BabyCenter.com you can get ‘free’ products on Shutterfly that way. It really is worth it, to me anyway 🙂
So, there you have it.
Two excellent options to find those one-of-a-kind presents for people in your life.
