Trust

It’s  a very strong word huh?

Do you trust?

Have you lose your trust in someone specific at some point or in yourself?

It’s defined a tricky thing.

It can take time, sometimes, maybe lots of time before people even consider trusting someone.

Have you ever noticed you probably have different levels of trust with different people?

For example, compare your level between you and:

  • Your parents
  • Siblings
  • Co workers
  • Neighbors
  • Extended family
  • Lawyer
  • Cashier

There are probably some you intrinsically trust more than others.

Is there something that makes you trust more? Or less?

How about this, do you trust yourself?

Your instincts, intuition, gut?

Or are you constantly second guessing yourself?

I like to think I trust my intuition but I’m also a thinker, so depending on the circumstances I will second guess myself plenty.

I think it’s only natural to have trust issues because you definitely should not trust everyone.

But, still at some point, I think you have to trust someone, even if it’s just yourself!

Don’t you think?

Do you trust easily? Or slowly? Do you at least trust yourself? Please share with us in the comments below! Thanks.

  1. I definitely have some trust issues. I have been through a lot when it comes to trusting people. Even when it comes to being able to rely on someone being on time or doing something on me, I don’t have a lot of faith in people.

  2. I trust easily, but once it’s broken…it’s so hard for me to trust again! It’s hard to trust people, but I just put my hope in God. A great read, thanks!

  3. It is hard to trust! I feel it is broken friendships that really get me. I have had many friendships, all as an adult, that the trust was completely broken, so my trust issues have prevented me from making real adult friendships. Most people are ‘so and so from the library’ or ‘so and so’s mother’ even if I have seen them a million times. Never do I say ‘my friend so and so’. Trust is a hard thing!

    • I agree!!!! And making friends as an adult anyway is hard since we’re all in different places in our lives… even if we’re all in the same place! Thanks so much for sharing!

  4. I trust really easily and some have called me gullible, stupid, or naive. But I truly believe in trusting the good in people, that everyone has good intentions. Some may chose to live their life suspicious of others but that’s too stressful for me. Thank you for sharing. You just confirmed my gut about trust!

  5. I am slightly (ok a lot) impulsive so I make a decision quickly and just go with it. It is not always the best way to go!

  6. Definitely some good advice in this! Way to encourage others to take a leap!
