Benefits of Protein

Builds muscles

When you’re losing weight, hopefully you’re also working out.

And one of the best ways to work out, especially to lose weight is to weight lift.

Now, even if you are not lifting weights, did you know that building muscles will help you burn more fat?

Yup, and making sure you’re eating enough protein helps with that!

Maintains Muscle

So if nothing else, eating enough protein will help you maintain the muscle that you do have.

Your body will want to use the muscle for energy, possibly even first before your fat.

Eating enough protein, every day, will help from losing what muscle you do have.

Helps With Cravings

This is the biggest one for me.

It seems so weird to me, that just by eating enough protein can help with my cravings.

I am a self-proclaimed foodie!

I love food and could eat chocolate every day.

But, when I eat my protein I have no or very little want for chocolate, let alone snacks of any sort.

It’s a bit of a bummer, to be honest lol.

To not want my chocolate anymore is kinda sad.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s extremely helpful when trying to lose weight.

Just sad sometimes lol.

So if you want to naturally control your cravings, including sweets, then increase your protein intact.

No Sugar Crash

One of the great benefits of protein is the no sugar crash.

Because it takes our bodies longer to process the protein, we don’t get that crash.

And why is that important during weight loss?

It helps with those cravings.

If you don’t crash, you’ll be less likely to overeat, or at least to eat badly.

Feel Stronger

Building your muscles will, of course, help you become stronger.

With that you will notice being able to lift more.

But don’t worry about becoming bulky.

Unless you have a specific diet, including specific supplements and a hard core lifting regiment you’ll be fine!

Strengthen Bones

Yup, a simple thing like eating protein will help keep your bones healthy and strong (along with lifting weights).

As you get older, this is crucially important.

You hear about older folks, when they fall, breaking hips, etc., right?

Strengthen those bones as your getting older and protect yourselves.

Improved Sleep

There have been several studies done over the years the show that eating more protein will help you sleep better.

And why is more sleep important?

Well, one key thing that will help with weight loss is less stress and that will come with better sleep.

Think about it.

If you are more stressed, you know you don’t sleep as well.

Increase your protein and see if that helps your sleep.

And one way to do that is to check out the Carnivore Diet.
