This is our sixth day of 7 days where we will dive into 8 of the best tips for cruising with a toddler!

So, you want to take a cruise with your family….. that includes a toddler.

But you’re not sure that’s a fantastic idea, let alone a good one.

And you’d really rather not go on a ‘kids’ cruise.

Well, let me share something with you.

We just got back from a 10-day, yup you heard correctly 10-day!, cruise with my 4-days-shy-of-his-3rd-birthday-year-old.  It was his first, my second, and without any hoop-la, it went great and is totally worth it!!!

Oh, and just to let you know, this was not a cruise meant for kids or really families for that matter. It was for the more mature, older customer.

And so that’s why I’m going to share with you over the next 7 days, my tips and tricks for how we ‘survived’ our 10-day non-kid/family cruise and hopefully, it will encourage you too!

And just in case you’d like to catch up before moving forward:

Day 1 – Being flexible.

Day 2 – Outdoor gear.

Day 3 – Play.

Day 4 – Loveys and food/snacks.

Day 5 – Bedtime routine.

Cruising with a Toddler: Seventh Tip #7- Explore

Explore, explore, explore!

We made sure we took every opportunity to explore the ship whenever we could, and/or whenever my little one seemed interested.

One place he seemed to really like was the theater.

The room was always open and was often empty. So, we took those opportunities to explore and see what was what.

There were two side boxes which to him looked like spaceships. Needless to say, we walked and climbed back and forth between the two ‘spaceships’ until he was ready to go.

There were several shops on the ship too but these were a bit dangerous. Too many items right at toddler level 🙂

I also made it a point to make sure we got off the ship at every port whether we were doing an excursion or not.

I always made sure we had the stroller and backpack leash.

The stroller we mostly used just to get on and off the ship. And the leash for once we were at each port and it felt safe to let my little guy walk around himself.
