If the answer is yes, which I assume it is :), then you’ve come to the right place!

To be honest, I just eyeballed mine.

I don’t like to eyeball crafts most of the time but I couldn’t find anything to print out so I didn’t have much of a choice.

And, it did turn out pretty good, if I may say so myself but I would’ve enjoyed it better had I had a template to go by!

So, I thought for those of you are might be like me and don’t like to just eyeball crafts, I put together templates that you can print and cut out then you’ll know you have it right.

Snowman Door Template

Supplies Needed

  • Printer paper or cardstock. Anything light will work so when you print it out you can see the lines to cut.
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Painter’s tape
  • Colored paper – printer paper, cardstock, construction paper (anything works)

Now, the idea for these templates is that you print them out with simple white paper, or feel free to use cardstock if you have it so it’s a bit sturdier, and then cut out each shape.

After you have each of the shapes cut then you can place them on the color paper of your choice.

Trace the shape onto the colored paper and then cut those out.

Once you have all your pieces it’s time to assemble.

Buttons, Eyes, and Smile

So these make up the biggest part of the snowman door template, right?

And they are simple too, just two different size shapes.

The larger circle is for the snowman buttons.

I know I put two because that’s all I made and use for mine, but you can certainly do three or more depending on what you like!

Nose and Holly

So I mentioned how I just eyeballed these, right?

Well, that went for these images too.

But luckily for you, you get these great templates to follow 🙂

Hat

For the hat, I actually had a 12″ piece of black construction paper that I used.

Assuming you don’t already have that, you probably have an 8.5 x 11 piece of black construction paper which is perfect to use too.

Here’s the snowman template for the hat to follow.

For the accent stripe on the hat, just cut about a one-inch strip of your favorite colored paper and then trim it to fit the hat.

Assemble the Snowman

Let’s do the hat first since it has the most parts.

Take your accent piece, for me, it’s the red strip then glue or tape it right above the brim.

Again, if you need to trim it so it’s even with the top portion of your hat go ahead and do that now.

Next, choose which side you’d like to have your holly leaves and berries.

Arrange the leaves how you’d like, depending on how many you have.

Put them in a ‘v’ shape if you are using two, or separate them a bit and they’ll look great.

Then place your berries on top of the leaves.

In this case, clusters are great.

Place the Snowman

Once you have that done, you’re ready to place your snowman on your door!

Use some painter’s tape and tape the hat to the top portion of the door you’re decorating.

Once you have the hat situated you’ll place the eyes about 3.5 to 4 inches below the hat.

Then of course the nose below and in between the eyes, the smile after that, and then lastly the buttons.

Side note: one year I had some extra wrapping paper and used it to make a scarf.

Anything will work, some string, ribbon, or even a real scarf.

If you need to be able to close the door though make sure the ‘scarf’ is thin or attach it so it doesn’t need to go around the door.

And, of course, you can make this guy your own!

Make it a girl with some pink highlights on the hat or add a bow or flowers?

How about making it fun with a lopsided grin?

Add whatever you’d like to make it perfect for your family!!!!

Hope you enjoy this snowman template! Please share when you’ve made yours so we can all be inspired. Thanks!
