Before I gave birth I kept reading about making these pads using witch hazel and they were supposed to help postpartum.

I decided every little bit would help so I bought all the products and made my own padsicles and put them in the freezer, ready for after my son was born.

Let me tell you something!

I don’t remember feeling itchy, having problems going to the bathroom or having any problems ‘down there’ postpartum and I attribute that to two things.

  1. Dermoplast– I consider it a numbing spray, it’s used as a spray-on pain reliever. (You should be given some in the hospital but in case you don’t or are taking another route, considering have some available!)
  2. And these awesome padsicles!

So on to the best part 🙂

How To Use Witch Hazel Postpartum

You’ll want a few items:

  • Sanitary pads – the ones for heavy days or overnights. I love using Always Infinity pads. They are amazing!
  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Witch Hazel
  • Ziploc bags

And now just a few steps:

  1. Open the sanitary pad but keep it attached to the wrapper.
  2. Apply some aloe vera to the pad.
  3. Apply the witch hazel onto the pad.
  4. Refold the pad and close up the wrapper.
  5. Put the pad into a Ziploc bag.
  6. Put bags of pads in the freezer until you need them!

Simple and easy right?

And trust me, you will not regret taking the time to make these!!!
