For the last several years I’ve done one for my son.

I started probably when he was 3 or so which means he wasn’t able to read yet.

I was able to find clip art of different items and places around the house that I could put into the Easter eggs for him to open up.

The hardest part was remembering what went where and what led to what lol.

But no worries now!

Not only do I have great treasure hunt cards already ready for you to print out but instructions too so that it’ll be easier to figure out how to put the treasure hunt together!

Easter Treasure Hunt

First, there are several options with the cards that are available.

There are cards with simple pictures on them for the younger kids to be able to do the treasure hunt on their own.

The other cards have multiple pictures on them.

These cards are meant to be used with the decoder, to make the hunt even more challenging and fun 🙂

Head over to my Etsy store to pick these up today!

Want to up the ante even more? 😉

Your other option is to cut the cards into a few pieces (depending on the age of the child and/or their love of puzzles) to make them have to put the pieces together before they can then decode them!

How to play

So this is where I always get hung up lol.

The biggest thing to remember is that the picture you want them to go to needs to be in another spot.

You won’t put the toothbrush at the toothbrush or the shoes at the shoes.

Instead, you’ll put the toothbrush, let’s say, on the bed ( this will lead them to the toothbrush).

At the toothbrush, they’ll find,  let’s say,  the couch.

So they’ll go to the couch to find another clue, etc. Does that make sense? Lol

So, ultimately it doesn’t matter in what order you go in.

Unless you’re planning on having one big basket/ gift at the end.

Then you’ll want to make sure the clues all lead to that 🙂

Personally, I try to have the clues spread out from one end of the house to the other (this gives my son some extra exercise lol).

Have fun with it.

You can make it as easy or as challenging as you’d like!!
