Let Go – Thought for the Every Day

To let go.

Something we should probably do more often but probably don’t?

Are you good at throwing things away?

Let’s just be real here.

I’m not.

I try, and I will go through phases where I’m excellent at cleaning stuff out and cleaning it.

And yes, I feel great when I’ve cleaned up and done a good job of letting go of stuff.

Unfortunately, that’s not been good enough for me to keep up with it.

But what I’d really like to bring up is letting go of emotions, especially negative ones, expectations, the past, etc.

Do you hold on to anger, jealousy, or frustration, a little too long?

No, it’s not easy and I’m not suggesting that it is.

What I’d like to do is present you with a challenge.

Ready?

The Challenge

In the next hour, day, week, or sometime in the near future – I want you to let go of something.

Abundance is the process of letting go; that which is empty can receive.

Is there something from your past that you know you should really move forward from?

Let go!

Let it go!

Just try it, even if you can only manage for a few minutes, and see what happens!

In fact, let me help you. Tonight, when you go to bed, take one deep breath.

And then let it go, and see how you feel! 🙂

One little step will lead to more steps!!!

Extra Help

Need a little more guidance?

  • Take a deep breath

Whether it’s a problem that can’t be solved (by you) or a task that can’t be finished (by you), sometimes just taking a deep breath or two is all you need to be able to let it go and move forward.

  • Step away

Just like the above scenarios, stepping away might be the perfect, simple answer to helping you let go.

  • Write it down

I have found that writing down issues or problems can really help.

It gets them out of my head so I can focus on more important things.

  • Listen to calming music

I found this awesome article on the effects of certain music on mood.

I really encourage you to read it!

  1. Good ideas worth to try! Let the anger and frustration go is very great for your peace of mind but sometimes it happened again and you are in the same situation again.

  2. This is something I need to do more often, I hold onto a lot before I finally just break down.

  3. I am in the middle of a major declutter! Letting go is so freeing, and it helps you to see what you really do have that is of value. Both tangible and intangible.

  4. Being able to let go is so important. Whether it is something physical or emotional, being able to let go is such a great feeling!

  5. I have a really hard time letting go especially when I’m overwhelmed. It seems like the more there is on my plate the harder it is to just let go of the negative things. This is a good reminder that it feels so good to just let go: of stuff, negative thoughts, bad relationships, ah just saying that makes me feel a little freer! <3 Jamie

  6. Great words of advice, as always. I love reading your words or wisdom, even if this one has that one Frozen song now stuck in my head 😉

  7. Oh I love this!! These are some really fantastic ideas! Thank you!

  8. I have to say this is easier said than done. It is timely as I am in the midst of this. I am working on it for sure. Thanks for sharing
