Inspirational Quotes

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
― Oscar Wilde

I love this one for the obvious reason.

How often, especially in this day and age, do we compare ourselves to others?

If you’re on social media, it’s way to easy to do.

You see peoples ‘perfect’ lives and wish yours could be that way too, right?

But we should remember to always be ourselves.

Not only is it easier but so much better for your mental health!

“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

Now, I am a music lover.

I do not get to listen to it as often as I’d really like!

Music just makes my heart happy 🙂

Hopefully music does that for you too.

If not, keep searching.

There are so many different genres out there I think it would be impossible not to be able to find one.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
― Thomas A. Edison

If we could all just truly embrace this one!

Just today I was feeling down about something I’ve been working hard on for about a year.

But I know that I need to keep moving forward and trusting the process.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
― George Bernard Shaw

Oh, boy!

Another one of those great inspirational quotes to think about.

I’ve always heard that you should go out and find ourself.

Not only that, I’ve been trying to do just that for most of my life.

I feel like I’m no where near finding myself.

But, as I’m writing this I realize, I may still be trying to find myself I have definitely been creating myself along the way too!

I’ve lived in the mountains, a big city and a small town.

Gotten to travel solo and with friends and family.

All your life experiences add to who you are.

Even if you haven’t done any of the things I’ve mentioned, you’ve still been creating yourself.

Look back at all you’ve done and/or accomplished.

And if after that you feel like you’ve done nothing, then use this time to Start Something!********

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
― Theodore Roosevelt

And this quote should be your inspiration!

Want to travel more but don’t have the money, take a different way home.

Travel to a nearby town/city you’ve never visited.

Research the thing you really want to do or be.

Start you process, no matter where you are!

Bloom where you are planted! ― Mary Engelbreit

You can always grow wherever you are.

I know it can feel impossible depending on what your situation is but you must believe!

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”
― Helen Keller

Well, I don’t know about you but I think this one fits me to a ‘t’!

Are you always able to move forward from closed doors?

Or are you more like me and focus on it a little to long after it’s closed?

There very likely are other doors open to us if we would just look.

Not only look but be open to the possibility that there are other doors and options available!

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt

I’ve been unknowingly following this one for years.

I lived in New York for 8 years.

During that time 9/11 happened.

I loved living in NY.

I had awesome friends.

A great job that was so flexible.

And a great apartment.

But, I wasn’t really happy.

I was far away from my family and it just wasn’t worth it to me any more.

I finally decided to leave and move back home to my parents.

It took be me about 7 years to finally make that decision and I just told myself: I’m making the best decision for me at this time in my life and I will not regret it!

It’s hard enough making decisions sometimes, let alone not feeling so consumed by them and not trusting your decision.

Ever since then I have done the same thing.

I will make the best decision I can with the information I have and considering where I am in my life.

And tell myself that I will not regret it!

So far so good 🙂

“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Read that again 🙂

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
― Robert Louis Stevenson

Ah, this one is the best!

It’s so easy to wake up each day and look at what we have, our harvest.

And completely forget and/or not even pay attention to the seeds that we’ve planted.

We see others successes and wonder why we aren’t there yet.

It’s not always easy to remember that seeds take time to grow and so do all the little things we do each day that, when we’re patient, will grow!

But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.”
― Martin Luther King, Jr.

Stars are beautiful, right?

But you can only see them when it’s dark!

Sometimes when things don’t go our way, it’s a chance to look our for the stars that are only visible when it’s dark!

A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.”
— John A. Shedd

This is one of my favorite inspirational quotes of all-time.

We are built to explore.

To go out there and live life.

That doesn’t mean you have travel around the world and jump off bridges.

To me, it means to be you,

Follow your heart.

Do what you love to do.

If you don’t know what that is, start exploring.

What makes you happy?

What are you good at?

Find you!
