Be

When was the last time you just laid still or sat still and just allowed yourself to Be?

I know, it sounds weird, right?

Especially in this day and age. Who has time for that?

Well, none of us may actually have time for it. But that’s why I’d like to pose a challenge to you!

At some point in your day. Whether it’s in the morning before you actually get out of bed, during the day when you’re driving somewhere or last thing at night before you actually fall asleep. Allow yourself to just Be. Take a deep breathe and settle yourself for just a moment.

Here’s a second challenge for you 🙂

Be present with those around you.

Tweet this!

Being present with those around you.

What does that mean, you ask?

When was the last time you went to eat a meal with someone and you had your cell phone out?

Do you spend time with friends and/or family but are thinking about other things?

I find myself caught up in what I ‘need’ to do, ‘should’ do that sometimes, and maybe too often, I am not truly being present with those that I’m with.

Whether it’s with your loved ones, your little ones, family, friends or co-workers. For that matter, the cashier, pharmacist, etc. Try to remind yourself that being present is important too.

We owe it to ourselves and those around us to be and to be present, even if they are not. (role modeling is a great thing :))

Have you taken any time lately to just be? I hope so! Enjoy life 🙂

  1. Great challenge and reminder. I find it’s definitely needed with so much technology to remind ourselves to just be present with our loved ones and friends in person rather then online. Thanks.

  2. I enforce a “no electronics at the dinner table” rule. I feel that is a time to spend with your family, not to be checking your phone, filling your trap, and ignoring your family. I also try to spend time every day with my kids, with no electronics present.

  3. GReat reminder. Self care is so important

  4. Being present is one of my biggest challenges and something I’m working on in the upcoming year.

  5. My husband and I drive each other crazy with the phone thing. We are always reminding each other to put phones away during family time. I am definitely going to strive to do better with this in 2018. Thanks for shedding light on this important topic!

  6. I loved this post – extremely insightful for something that seems so simple and easy to remember! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  7. I couldn’t agree more! For example, I can’t stand people who are on their cellphones while whoever they’re having a meal/date with is there waiting/bored. Unless it’s an emergency of course!

    • Yea, see we never know do we but I just say a family out at dinner tonight and a few of them were so engrossed in their devices there was little to no communication happening. I felt sad for them but I understand that’s their dynamic.

  8. This is a great challenge. It’s so important to take time to just be. It does sound easier than it is but we should all do it!
